Summary

Four equal rectangle contributions form the factor for the centrally located receiver. Based on Van Rossum (2027), §5.4.

Original illustration for View factor, level 3 Advanced.

  • Source basis: Van Rossum (2027), §5.4, rectangular-source construction and smoke-layer example; redraw, do not copy.
  • Alt text: A 49 m square source is divided into four equal quadrants around a receiver projection at its centre.
  • Accuracy notes: The receiver must be directly beneath the square centre. Distinguish the source plane from the floor and show 12.25 m as receiver-to-layer separation.
