Summary

An analogue multi-sensor detector sends measured values, not only an alarm state, to the control panel. Based on Iqbal and Salley (2004), pp. 11-5 to 11-6, and Australian Building Codes Board (2020a), pp. 96-97.

Original vector illustration for Multi-sensor detector, level 2 Intermediate.

  • Source basis: Iqbal and Salley (2004), p. 11-5 (conventional go/no-go detectors) and p. 11-6 (analogue sensors, dirty or too sensitive, combination units); Australian Building Codes Board (2020a), p. 96 (addressable loop) and p. 97 (dirty detectors, alert before main alarm); Schifiliti et al. (2002), p. 4-22 (response algorithms)
  • Alt text: Block diagram: smoke and heat sensors in one detector send values over a loop to a panel that gives pre-alarm, alarm or dirty warnings.
