Summary
A small spare capacity above continuing arrivals clears an existing queue slowly. Based on Nelson and Mowrer (2002), pp. 3-371–3-372, and ABCB (2020), p. 280.
Original illustration for Hydraulic evacuation model, level 3 Advanced.
- Source basis: Nelson and Mowrer (2002), pp. 3-371–3-372; ABCB (2020), p. 280. Create an original visual; redraw, do not copy source figures.
- Alt text: An example queue grows with limited doorway flow and drains slowly when discharge only slightly exceeds arrivals.
- Accuracy notes: Label these as separate mathematical comparisons. The clearance case assumes an existing queue and continuing arrivals; it does not depict a doorway being widened during evacuation. Continuous population values are model approximations.
