Fse-heskestad-plume-v3.svg (SVG file, nominally 900 × 600 pixels, file size: 8 KB)

Summary

The pallet fire calculation uses the base of the storage as its common height datum. Based on Heskestad (2002), chapter 2-1, pp. 2-4 and 2-10, and Van Rossum (2027), §6.7.

Original illustration for Heskestad plume, level 3 Advanced.

  • Source basis: Heskestad (2002), chapter 2-1, pp. 2-4 and 2-10; Van Rossum (2027), §6.7. Calculated illustration.
  • Alt text: A 5 m plane lies above the 4.23 m mean flame height and carries a calculated 13.3 kg/s plume flow.
  • Accuracy notes: Virtual origin uses storage relationship L-0.175 Qc^0.4, not pool relationship; do not place a smoke interface below 5 m.
