Summary

Three paths preserve the initiating frequency when conditional probabilities are applied consistently. Based on Australian Building Codes Board et al. (2005), p. 2.2-4, and Hall (2002), p. 1-184; numerical inputs are hypothetical.

Original illustration for Event tree analysis, level 3 Advanced.

  • Source basis: Australian Building Codes Board et al. (2005), p. 2.2-4, Figure 2.2.2.1; Hall (2002), p. 1-184; redraw, do not copy. Numbers calculated in calculations/event-tree-analysis.py.
  • Alt text: A fire branches into successful control, barrier containment after failed control, and failure of both functions, with calculated frequencies.
  • Accuracy notes: Do not reproduce the source figure tenability labels as universal claims. Barrier probabilities apply only after failed control. The last path is not labelled fatality.
