Summary

Vent ganging after the first sprinkler discharge: vents beyond the second ring of sprinklers open at once, the vents closer to the fire after the sprinklers have controlled it. Based on Cooper (2002b), p. 3-239.

Original illustration for Sprinkler skipping, level 4 Expert.

  • Source basis: Cooper (2002b), p. 3-239 (ganging of vents with the first sprinkler discharge; smart strategy opening vents beyond the first or second ring at once and the others after control, with extra vent area)
  • Alt text: Plan of a roof with a sprinkler grid and vents; vents beyond the second ring of sprinklers around the first sprinkler are marked open.
