Summary

Two sprinklers at the end of a branch line. Friction in 3.66 m of pipe adds 0.17 bar, so the second sprinkler discharges more than the end sprinkler. Based on Fleming (2002), pp. 4-75 to 4-76.

Original illustration for Hydraulic calculation, level 4 Expert.

  • Source basis: Fleming (2002), p. 4-75 (Examples 4 and 5: end sprinkler flow and pressure) and p. 4-76 (Example 6: friction loss and second sprinkler; hydraulic increase)
  • Alt text: Side view of a pipe with two sprinklers 3.66 m apart: the end sprinkler gets 1.40 bar and 95 L/min, the second 1.56 bar and 101 L/min.
