Summary

Parametric curves for the concrete office of the worked example with a small and a large window: larger openings give a hotter but shorter fire. Based on Australian Building Codes Board (2020), pp. 39–41, and Lie (2002), p. 4-205.

Original illustration for Parametric fire curve, level 4 Expert.

  • Source basis: Australian Building Codes Board (2020), pp. 39–41 (equations); Lie (2002), p. 4-205, Figure 4-8.9 (same qualitative trend; redraw the idea, do not copy the figure); Van Rossum (2027), §5.5; Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (2025), p. 22
  • Alt text: Line chart: with a large window the gas peaks near 900 °C after 31 min and is cold after 98 min; a small window peaks near 710 °C and stays hot for hours.
