Summary

Parts of the Annex A parametric curve: the heating branch, whose speed depends on Γ, the peak at tmax and the linear cooling branch. A lower b-factor raises Γ and gives a hotter curve with the same tmax. Based on Australian Building Codes Board (2020), pp. 39–41.

Original illustration for Parametric fire curve, level 4 Expert.

  • Source basis: Australian Building Codes Board (2020), pp. 39–41 (Equations 3.5 to 3.17)
  • Alt text: Sketch of a parametric fire curve: a curved rise, a peak marked at tmax, a straight cooling line, and a hotter curve for a higher factor Gamma.
