Summary

A smoke explosion in three stages: unburned gases from a smouldering fire mix with the room air, the premixed cloud is ignited, and the deflagration raises the pressure. Based on Iqbal and Salley (2004), pp. 15-3–15-4, and Van Rossum (2027), §4.10.

  • Alt text: Three stages of one room: smouldering sofa filling the room with smoke, a spark igniting the mixed cloud, and the explosion breaking the window.
