Summary

A reservoir calculation accounts for the mass and energy entering, leaving and remaining within the selected boundary. Based on Van Rossum (2027), §3.7, and Cooper (2002), pp. 3-229–3-230.

Original illustration for Smoke reservoir, level 3 Advanced.

  • Source basis: Van Rossum (2027), §3.7; Cooper (2002), pp. 3-229–3-230. Create an original visual; redraw, do not copy source figures.
  • Alt text: A reservoir control volume receives plume flow and loses mass through exhaust and spill, plus heat to its boundaries.
  • Accuracy notes: Heat transfer to construction is not a gas mass outflow. Keep the two balances visually distinct.
