Fse-atrium-smoke-control-v2.svg (SVG file, nominally 900 × 600 pixels, file size: 7 KB)

Summary

A stationary smoke interface requires a consistent balance between the smoke supplied and removed under the stated conditions. Based on Milke (2002), pp. 4-298–4-299 and 4-306.

Original illustration for Atrium smoke control, level 3 Advanced.

  • Source basis: Milke (2002), pp. 4-298–4-299 and 4-306. Create an original visual; redraw, do not copy source figures.
  • Alt text: Plume flow enters a smoke layer while exhaust removes gas above and replacement air enters below.
  • Accuracy notes: The air supply is below the interface. Do not equate cold inlet and hot exhaust volume rates without density conversion.
