Summary

One empirical pool fire method reduces average emissive power as diameter increases. Based on Beyler (2002), chapter 3-11, p. 3-277, and Iqbal and Salley (2004), pp. 5-7 and 5-17.

Original illustration for Flame radiation, level 3 Advanced.

  • Source basis: Beyler (2002), chapter 3-11, p. 3-277; Iqbal and Salley (2004), pp. 5-7 and 5-17.
  • Alt text: A model curve shows average emissive power decreasing with pool diameter, including 46.2 kW/m² at 12 m.
  • Accuracy notes: Do not confuse emissive power per area with total radiative output, which is not plotted.
