== Summary ==
The three terms of the fire risk equation: fire frequency, conditional probability of equipment damage, and conditional probability of core damage, matched to the layers of defence in depth. Based on Siu (2002), p. 5-216.

Original illustration for [[Quantitative risk assessment]], level 4 Expert.

* Source basis: Siu (2002), p. 5-216 (Equation 1 and its three-term decomposition; correspondence to fire prevention, detection and suppression, mitigation); Barry (2002), p. 5-188 (general event tree sequence: initiating event frequency, conditional probabilities, consequence likelihood)
* Alt text: Event tree from fire frequency through equipment damage and core damage branches; brackets mark prevention, detection and suppression, mitigation.
