== Summary ==
Steps of a Monte Carlo study: inputs are sampled from their distributions, the model is run, and the collected results form the output distribution. Based on Phillips (2002), p. 5-115, and Notarianni (2002), pp. 5-51 and 5-56.

Original illustration for [[Monte Carlo simulation]], level 4 Expert.

* Source basis: Phillips (2002), p. 5-115 (parameters sampled from probability densities, sequence of runs, output densities); Notarianni (2002), p. 5-51 (Monte Carlo sampling estimates the output distribution; more runs, better approximation) and p. 5-56 (cumulative distribution from n results)
* Alt text: Flowchart: input distributions, random sampling, model run, store result, repeat many times, then output distribution and cumulative curve.
